gymboree classes?

    Hi moms,

Has anyone registered for Gymboree classes at Promenade? I had my trial class for the Play N Learn, but i'm still not sure if I should sign up for a month or so. Does anyone have experience with taking regular classes there? Is it worth the money, or just more of the same that you can get at the OEYC? Thanks!

I took my daughter when she was over six months and sitting up well on her own. When she was closer to the crawling stage, that's when I found it really worth the money. The equipment, activities and stimulation was great for her. And it really helped her learn to crawl. Not that I was in a hurry for her to do so :-)

I also tried the Gymboree trial class and my 2 year-old loved the equipment but didn't like the circle times.  Instead of paying for it, we go on Sundays from 11:30-1:30 to Garnett Williams C.C. and there is a free Kindergym class given by the Ontario Eary Years.  The equipment changes weekly and my son absolutely loves it.  Obviously the equipment isn't as elaborate as Gymboree, but it's not bad.  There's also not a huge crowd of people so it's better.  We found it too busy at Gymboree.

I went to the free trial class when my daughter was about 6 months old.  Only one other parent/child attended, so Gymboree wanted to reschedule the class.  I told them it took a lot of work to get my daughter there, so I would like to see the class.  It was OK, but nothing spectacular.  It was more of a "sell" to get me to pay for classes.

I started at Gymboree when my son was just 6 weeks.  I have really enjoyed it.

I found it especially helped him/me with tummy time. Some of the song /circle time activities are similar to the OEYC but they are better targeted to the age group - no crawling babies trying to pull at your newborn like at OEYC.
