Taking home a baby during the winter months, especially one that was in the NICU, can be challenge. Some of the common respiratory viruses and why the preterm infant is at an increased risk will be discussed. Decreasing the risk and balancing your life between living in a bubble and “having a life” will be shared.
Our speaker is Marianne Bracht, a Registered Nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital
Marianne has 40 years of nursing experience in neonatology, as a bedside nurse, in the neonatal follow up clinic and last 15 years as the Mount Sinai NICU parent resource nurse as well as the RSV nurse coordinator. Through out her nursing career she has advocated for parents, provided education and support, created and co-led parent education programs. Her experience has given her insight into the struggles parents encounter in the NICU as well as following discharge.
