Raising a baby is a wonderful experience but it is also a challenge. We get that. This year on Bell Let's Talk Day, we are hosting a low-key informal Pajama Party for you to come out with your baby to meet other moms and chat. We'll have a speaker to give a short talk about self-care and what we can do to take better care of ourselves while caring for our little ones.
The speaker will talk about self-care and wellness followed by a 20 minute circle time, and 20 minutes of mingling.
Coffee/snacks will be provided.
Talk lead by Rosa Caporicci, MA (C. Psy), Psychotherapist
Rosa Caporicci is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in Montreal. She earned a M.A. in Counselling Psychology from McGill University, and has chosen to specialize her practice in maternal mental health, something she struggled with herself following the birth of her second child. She helps women before, during and after pregnancy as well as supporting families who experience a perinatal loss and/or are dealing with fertility issues. She received post-graduate training through the Postpartum Stress Centre and Postpartum Support International (PSI), the latter for which she is the Quebec coordinator (English-speaking community). She is also an active member of the Marcé Society for Perinatal Mental Health (Marcé of North America - MONA) and PSI. Rosa, a mother of three girls, is passionate about supporting both parents during one of life's most challenging and dramatic transitions--parenthood!
Hosted by Yvonne:
Yvonne Pelling is passionate about working with families as shown through her work as Deputy Coordinator & Finance Officer on the National Family and Carer's Council for ACCESS-Open Minds, a pan-Canadian research project focusing on youth mental health. As former doula, she has on-the-ground experience serving families throughout the childbearing years. And her involvement doesn't end there! In her "down time" you will find her mothering two beautiful girls. Through and through, Yvonne is a person of lived experience!
