How do you like your new body?

I was talking to my girl friends last weekend, all newbie moms, and were laughing and sometimes grunting about how our bodies have practically evolved after the pregnancies.  So many changes in and out of our skin, and affecting our perception of ourselves and life in general.

How much did you change from your pregnancy?  Do you or do you not like the changes?

Well, I just had my third child. Most of the damage to my former flat tummy was done by my first pregnancy 15 years ago. I am seriously considering a tummy tuck. I don't like seeing the stretch marks and that won't change anytime soon. I still have 15 pounds to lose. My daughter is now 10 weeks old. I have been going out for walks and working out at home when I can. I look forward to going back to the gym in a couple of months. When I look at my body now, I think of how it carried all my children and how amazing that is. It's different now then it once was, but if I can't change anything about it.. I would be ok with that to.

    Hi,

I'm a new mom with a 7 month old boy. I am now back to my pre-pregnancy weight but somehow all the fat is now concentrated behind a flap of loose skin at my belly. The rest of my body is the same size as before.I have to wear pants one size bigger just because I got my own fanny-pack now! :-)

Sometimes I find the new 'flap' frustrating because I can't fit into some of my old fitted dresses and pants anymore. But I look at my adorable baby boy and I can't really complain. This 'fanny-pack' gave birth to this wonderful boy! It's all worth it. My husband doesn't seem to care much about that flap, and it can be carefully disguised under clothing.

Also, since I make my own clothes, it just gave me excuses to do some sewing for myself (but only after taking care of baby, hubby, house chores, and sewing clothes for baby).

    Cheers,
    Darmeen.

My wedding ring still doesn't fit me (not since late in my last pregnancy). Two and a half years later, I'm now expecting baby #2 so I'll worry about my ring fitting again after I give birth :-)
My closet is like a boutique-- I've got clothes that range across 3 sizes. And don't get me started on bras-- I've got the alphabet.

I would LOVE my old body back but I don't stress (well, not too much, anyway) about it because I know how to lose the weight; I just haven't been disciplined about it, and that's my own fault. Check back after baby #2 is born and let's see how I'm doing :-)

During my first pregnancy, I loved how I look and I felt beautiful and kinda sexy. Not so much this time around. Not sure what it is. I thought it was just me but I had a conversation with another mom who said that she felt the same way. And during her second pregnancy, she couldn't wait to not be pregnant anymore. Anyone else feel/felt this way?
