We understand there is a lack of race-based healthcare data in Canada. Without this information, creating significant change in how BIPOC communities are supported is challenging. Therefore, we felt it was crucial to first ask the questions and gather the research necessary in order to better design programs that will adequately support parents of all backgrounds and circumstances.
LWAB initiated a study to look at usage patterns of organizations and community agencies specifically for racialized, Indigenous, and/ or LGBTQ2S+ parents across Canada.
The report includes information for service providers to improve access to mental health care, support, and services to ensure they are reaching parents where they are.
We commissioned CulturaliQ to create the report.
