Similar symptoms but perceived or diagnosed differently.  How can you tell if its  post-partum depression and seek medical attention?  How can you rule out that its fatigue due to lack of sleep and exhaustion?  How do you deal with it?

I know that last week, I was feeling really low, kind of feeling sorry for myself. I had a rest, and Leia was fine...it was all in my head. I had a good nights sleep and the next morning I knew that it was just me. I think that with post partum...these feelings would be lasting longer than a day or two. As well a bit more intense, than the weepy nonscence I was displaying. Something I hate to go through.

Your visiting public health nurse would be a good resource. There is a questionnaire that they can run through with you to determine your risk level. Although most nurses visit within the first two weeks of baby returning home and you may not notice depression or anxiety initially, you can always contact them if you run into any trouble later on and they will provide you with good information and support.

1 in 5 women have a post partum mood disorder. It doesn't have to be depression. It can be anxiety, as well as other factors.  Isolation and loneliness increase the feelings of a PPMD so it's very important to get out of the house. Go for walks, go out with friends and most importantly connect with other moms, either in person or online. The mom to mom support is extremely beneficial.

well i guess the main factor is time. if lasts for a few days then ur back to normal then its probably just fatigue. if the blue feeling is ALWAYS there for a prolonged period and nothing seems to make it better then u probably better seek medical help.
