What is on your shopping list - for you and your little ones?

Does anyone have any suggestions and/or reviews on potential gifts for babies and toddlers?

Here are some lists I've been looking at http://besttoysguide.com/featured/20-hot-toys-christmas-2010

The Canadian Toy Testing Council just released their 2011 lists for best bets, children's favourite toys, etc.

The Toy Report has reviews on all the toys tested.

My 20-month old has the Leapfrog My Pal Violet (which she received as a 1st birthday gift), and she does play with it quite a bit. Initially (12-18 months), she enjoyed the music, now she calls it her "baby" and likes to feed her, change her diaper (we put a newborn size diaper on Violet!) and put her to bed.

Does anyone have any of these toys - if so, please can you post some reviews/ additional comments?

I haven't tried any of those toys out yet......but I have recently become a fan of the Melissa & Doug products, especially their wooden puzzles: http://www.melissaanddoug.com/about.phtml

Yes, Melissa and Doug is great. They have grat puzzles and I also like their play food sets and fill and spills. My neices and Nephews will all get a Melissa and Doug Puzzle and a book for Christmas.

My 17 month old very recently became attached to her "baby" so I bought some clothes, diapers and a feeding set for her baby. It is a you and me brand. I think I will buy her a new baby too because the one she has is pretty beat up.

She is also VERY much into balls so I bought her a bunch of balls of different sizes and textures, I think the sensory ball and the o ball is included in there, as well as a bouncy ball for her stocking.

She also likes to be grown up so I bought her some jewellery and clothes and a purse.

Other than that she likes Thomas the Train so I am getting her the early engineers set with an extra train. She also loves Wow Wow Wubbzy and music so I got her the Wubb-Idol DVD and a wubbzy doll that talks that I had to order on ebay because it is not available in Canada.
