Niagara Doulas and Flora’s Walk Niagara have come together for the 4th Annual Flora's Walk Niagara to honour Flora's memory and fight for better support for parents struggling with perinatal mental health challenges.
Flora was a young mother from Ontario who should still be here today. She lost her life to an undiagnosed and untreated postpartum mental health disorder.
We believe that no one should suffer in silence.
Every dollar we raise will support vital perinatal programs such as The Fourth Trimester Foundation, a nonprofit providing critical newborn education and postpartum support to new and expecting parents in underserved communities.
We will be hosting a marketplace of local vendors and providers, there will be some really great raffle prizes to win, we will hear from a couple guest speakers, Kindermusik with Miss Corrie will be showcasing an Interactive demonstration with the kids and Niagara IceDogs Mascot Bones will be making an appearance. Join us. Support us. Walk with us. Because every parent deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
Location to Meet Up: Outdoor Track at Canada Games Park
Age Range for kids: 0-12
Walk with us to raise awareness and funding for perinatal mental health! Funds raised will be used to collaborate with community organizations and develop FREE perinatal mental health support, counselling services and therapeutic workshops for those living in the Brantford community.
Together we can prioritize women’s health, break the stigma surrounding perinatal mental health challenges, and ensure more mothers/birthers/parents (and their families) get the support they deserve.
