What are your recommendations for sun protection when out and about with your little ones?
Sunscreen products usually have a warning for use with babies under 6 months old - what are alternatives?

I used a peekaru ozone cover over my baby carrier.
I love the Neutrogena pure and free baby sunscreen products, it's a physical sunblock, so it's immediately effective (no more waiting 20 minutes!) and they have a fantastic easy-to-apply sunscreen stick.
Unfortunately, they are no longer available in Canada, but I do pick up supplies when I go cross-border shopping.

The Environmental Working Group puts out a sunscreen guide every year. They rank  sunscreen's according to which are the best:

The site has tons of great info!  Thanks for the tip on the peekaru - I was just wondering how to take my baby for a walk in the carrier now that the weather is so warm without having to worry about sun protection.  Did you like the peekaru?  Do you know if it will work with a baby bjorn carrier?

It should work with any baby carrier. It has adjustable clips that you essentially loop around the top straps.
The bottom part has a bit of a pouch that goes over baby's feet. It's also adjustable, with a toggle cinch. There's also a little 'hoody' to go over baby's head :)

I've actually also recently discovered an alternative cover - http://www.rainorshinekids.com/sun.php
This might be a better option if you also want to use it on your stroller, though it attaches via ribbons that you tie. It looks larger than the peekaru ozone, though it's got less of a custom fit - it's just a rectangle.

The cheapest I've found the peekaru ozone is at bynature.ca, though with the strong Canadian dollar, it might be worth shipping it from the US and hope you don't get customs duty/ HST at the border.

Thanks for this - it is a fantastic resource. The biggest thing is now finding products that are available in Canada and easy to buy i.e. pick up at a local store.

I think a previous member posted about California Baby products, but these are also no longer available in Canada :(

If anyone is interested, the RoSK sun cover is available on babysteals.com today (well at least until 11pm EST) for $16.49, shipping is only about $5.
I've bought many things from them and they are quick to ship.
