My son is on top of the table and climbing over the couch and standing on chairs ALL the time. I need help, I ran out of ideas!  :(

It is futile to try to stop a toddle from climbing. You wouldn't stop him from speaking, would you? Climbing is a natural stage of development so it is in your best interest to teach him how climb up  into the couch to sit and then how to get down safely. Much like the strategies you used  when teaching kids to climb the staircase. You may constantly and consistently encourage him to sit in the couch, pointing out that the couch and the chairs are for sitting -- not standing. Put down some interlocking foam in front of the couch on the ground so that he learns what it feels like to fall. Sometimes that's the way for a kid to learn. Some just obey passively while others have to go through the whole gamut of experiences. The important thing though is to watch him climb up and then help (teach) him to get down safely. The table thing is non-negotiable. That you must put a stop to right away-- for his safety and your sanity.
