    Hi Mommies,

Does anyone cover their child with a blanket for the night? It's getting to be pretty cold, and I figured I'd ask..

Let's do a poll - post your baby's age, a Yes/No answer and add any other details.

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Here's my attempt:

    Age: 18 months

Blanket: NO - kicks it off, but will cuddle with it at night.

    7 months - YES
I started using the crib size down duvet from IKEA while he wears a fleece zip-up bodysuit pajama. Keeps him toasty and sleeps longer until he crawls out of it in the night and calls out for me and put him back in.

Nicholas is almost 1 year old. We don't use a blanket - he  doesn't like it  and kicks it off with legs as soon as I cover him.  It doesn't work if I cover him after he falls asleep, he moves a lot during the sleep and  uncovers himself)))). We  end up using the sleep suck. It worked for us so far.

Leia is still swaddled (4months). Once I put her in the cradle I tuck in the sides a recieving blanket so she is snug and then put a knitted blanket on top of that. She usually wakes in the same position that I left her and she is cozy and warm.

Ever will be 17 months tomorrow, and she sleeps in a queen-sized bed with her daddy and me.  When she sleeps between us, she is covered, but when she sleeps on the other side of me (we have a bedrail there, to keep her from rolling out!) she throws off the blanket, so if it is cold, and I know she is going to be on that side, I put a sleeper on her.  If she falls asleep in between us, I let her sleep in just a diaper.  She seems to stay plenty warm that way, and we get lots of sleep!  :-)

For the first 12 months I had Christopher (and also my twins John and Alison) either swaddled as young babies and then we used a sleep sack. Once they turned 12 months I started using blankets.

With winter I usually have them in their fleece pj's and a fleece blanket which keeps them nice and warm at night.

My son will not use a blanket.  He always kicks it off.  I simply put a t-shirt on under his pajamas and the 2 layers keep him warm enough.

    Cheers,

Blanket: Yes- I put a small blanket on my daughter from chest down and it pretty much stays on her all night...till she kicks it off as she wakes up!

    Age:  12 months

Blanket:  NO - We use one of those Gro-bags... kind of like a soft baby sleeping bag.

Yes. I have been covering him with an organic cotton blanket I made him since he was off the swaddle (at 4.5 months). I made a organic cotton sleeping bag for him. He now sleeps in the sleeping bag and cuddles the blanket. He moves a lot during the night and sometimes the blanket is off, but he still likes having it around him.

The blanket signifies sleepy time for him. He does not sleep well without it.
