My baby is getting much to big for his baby tub but the large tub may be overwhelming for him.  Any suggestions?  What have you done?  The bath rings/chairs come with too many warnings for me to feel comfortable using them.

You could get in the big tub with your little one!

Yes, we were planning on doing that but I don't forsee us doing this for every bath.

We have one of the "rings" and my daughter doesn't like it... we've been bathing her in the big tub for most of her life because she was too long for the baby tub! We bought one of those mesh slings, about $8 at Walmart or Toys R Us. I lay her on the mesh thing and bath her. I find it easier to sit on a stool rather than be on my knees. Since she is almost 7 months now and can sit up on her own, I will wash her on the mesh thing, then I take it away, she sits and plays for a while and then I lay her down in the tub, just like I would lay down.. and she splashs around and plays. I just make sure that there isn't enough water in the tub to go over her face/mouth! She loves it! By the end of her bath, I'm soaked, but she has so much fun!!

    Hi Janne,
I dont know how is your life stile but i can tell you that in my case getting into the big bath with my baby was so much easier than using the little one (easier cleaning and much more comfortable), and that is why we have being doing it since she was 4 months.
My husband is usually the one doing it since he loves it and it is their baby-daddy time but sometimes he cant make it home by 6 (her bath time) so i do it :) basically she just sits or stands and play while i clean her. the cleaning last like 5 min or less but we stay in the bath for about 30 min (is good idea to add some hot water during the bath so it doesnt get too cold) and she really enjoys it while i just relax and keep two eyes on her :P.
sometimes when i havent had the chance to take a shower i use her "mamas and papas" seat (very similar to a bumbo seat) and put her there while i wash myself with her soap in the same water :)
    good luck

For my son, we used the mesh incline thing in the big tub. I put on my shorts and kneel or squat inside the tube to wash him. Once he started standing, I would pull him up and we would be dancing inside the tub after the cleaning is finished. He really liked that. He is 34 months now and I sit on the edge of the tub with my feet in the water to wash him.
