Feeding schedule

    Hi There.

We just celebrated Julian's 7 month bday!  I started him on cereal at 6 months - feedings gradually went from once a day to now twice a day.  I am still nursing in between meals and after meals.  He currently feeds at 9am, cereal (4-5 tbsp) followed by pureed fruit; his next meal is at 6:30pm, with cereal again followed by pureed veggies.  I will also give Julian an afternoon snack consisting of pureed vegetables.  We have not yet introduced meats.

Is this a suitable feeding schedule?  Julian seems to be satisfied with it.  Our pedeatrician's schedule recommends meals 3 times a day and two snacks consisting of either fruits or veggies.  Julian is doing well and growing very healthy.  He is 22 lbs!

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi Jennifer.
As long as he's gaining weight and no health issues, you should be doing well.  Your doctor's recommendations are guidelines but I hope you're not feeling guilty for not fully complying to it.  Although its a perfectly sound suggestion since your little Julian is growing up fast, you still know better.  In the weeks to come you just might notice that your current frequency may not be enough, i.e. he may also need to eat at mid-day.  I usually delay the intro of meats, too. Its pretty heavy stuff for such tiny intestines, and the poop can really make you change your mind about changing diapers. lol  You're doing well!  Cheers.
