    Hi ladies,

Breastfeeding pics pulled from Facebook. What do you think? See this article http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ british-columbia/story/2012/01/ 11/ bc-facebook-breastfeeding.html

Do you think the picture in question is "sexually explicit"?

I personally do not find breastfeeding sexy in myself... I don't even want my hubby to even look at my breasts :-) they are for food until I stop nursing.

Do you think this will help or hurt the breastfeeding initiative?

Would you share pictures of yourself nursing on the internet?

I don't think that pictures of breast-feeding babies, even with the breasts exposed/visible, are sexually-explicit at all. It is one of the most natural things in the world, and images of it should also be 'natural' and not 'offensive' or otherwise inappropriate.

We all have personal views on our own breast-feeding practises and comfort levels; like you I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it in public without covering up (but definitely in the privacy of my home and my two special men), however if others do then they should be allowed to do so. (I don't see how posting pictures of it is any different from actually seeing it 'for real' in person... if one is allowed, so should be the other.)

I don't know if this case will help or hurt the whole breast-feeding issue, maybe bring some short-lived publicity to it, exchanges of comments on the news pages (some of which are incredibly ignorant and unsupportive of breast-feeding)...

    Interesting story!

Breastfeeding sexual?? ...I dont know the other mom's but a pic of my breast would fit better on a national geographic post than in a pornographic  one....lol
I personally find extremely hypocritical to treat breastfeeding pic as sexual explicit content when they advertise pornography and you can find more than one page that is obviously use for prostitution!
I also think that women that have the courage to breastfeed in public and post their breastfeeding pic in social networks are doing a very important job since it made help new generations to see it as what it is, "a natural thing".
