    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know of a good family doctor or pediatrician in the Richmond Hill area that's accepting patients?  Since moving here we've been continuing to use our family doctor in downtown Toronto, but it just getting too annoying having to travel so far.

    Thanks!

I found both my paediatrician and family doctor using this site: http://www.cpso.on.ca/docsearch/
Though I've just noticed they've removed the function which indicates whether or not the doctor is accepting new patients, so you'll have to call to find out.

Not sure where you are but there's a new family doctor at the Summeridge Health Centre (Dufferin/ Summeridge (between Hwy7 and Rutherford) that's accepting new patients. My family doctor at Promenade Medical Centre is also accepting patients (good hours - there's walk in until 8pm and open on weekends)

    Good luck!

    Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for the response!

My aunt has given me the name of a doctor that's quite close to me, so I think I'll look into that first.  If that doesn't work out, then I might ask you for the name of your doctor.

Thanks again for your help with this!

I'm also looking for a pediatrician in Markham area.  I had been calling around and nobody accepts new patients especially Denise is already 5 months old.  We currently have a ped in North York but because we'll be moving to Markham next month we're hoping to find one in the area.  If anyone can refer that'll be awesome.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

When I was looking for a ped earlier this year, my friends recommended their doctor (who is in Markham).  His name is Dr Kevin Lee.  They seem to like him a lot.  He wasn't taking patients at the time but the office asked me to call back in a few months.  I ended up finding one in RH closer to home so I didn't bother.  You could give him a try. His number is 905-305-1700.

A good website to visit that will at least give you names and numbers is ratemds.com.  Rate MDs have people commenting on different doctors.  Keep in mind, each comment is based on someone's personal experience and should be taken with a grain of salt.  But the overall comments can also help you make a decision on who to call.

I have found a pediatric Doc who is at Elgin and Yonge. Good guy, Michael Singer. 905-884-5678. The nurse at the front isnt the friendliest, but he does all the work. They are quick and efficient. Good luck

    Hi moms!

I'm a new mom with a 7 month old baby boy. I am pretty confused about the new H1N1 vaccine for babies 6 month and older (2 half shots). I have been reading and watching a lot of news items about the vaccine and they all sound pretty scary to me. I heard that the vaccination clinics at York Region had a 4 hour line up yesterday which sounds awful for a baby and a mom to wait that long.

Have you vaccinated your babies with the H1N1 shots yet?
Are you going to vaccinate you babies?

I would like to see the views of other moms on this.

    Cheers,
    Darmeen.
