My 6 week old is suffering from colic.  Does anyone have any experience with this?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Narah.  Have you tried gripe water?  Was it any help?

It seems to have helped a bit, but not completely.  My son still seems to be in discomfort.  I am hoping there is something else out there that I could try.

Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding??

If you are breastfeeding then check out these websites for some options:

    Check out these website:

    http://www.lacteeze.com.au/colic.html

    http://www.foodreactions.org/products/colic.html

If you are formula feeding, just switch the formula to lactose free Enfamil and it will clear up in less than 24 hours. (My son had this problem and changing the formula worked well, my dr. (not his ped) told me about this)

If you ask your ped they will said that it will pass in 3 months, but that is a little nuts. Drs in Europe are farther ahead on this problem than the ones in Canada and in the US.

Also, you can try biogaia probiotic drops, they have them at ShopersDrug Mart (ask the Pharmasist) or at a healthfood store in the fridge section. They might help.

With my son I put some hot pack under his tummy when I put him to sleep.

I tried Gripe Water, and the other things, like Oval drops from Shoppers, they work, but I think the combination worked better-heated waistbands, Gripe water and Oval.

I tried the hot water bottle on his belly with the Gripe Water and it seems to be working.  Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

I was taught the 'I love you' massage technique at the baby massage classes, which seemed to help many moms - here's an example on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RaMv4smzO4

See if any of these can also help:
