    hi everyone,

Is anyone else out there as paranoid as I am about germs and the risk of your baby putting something in their mouths and choking?!?! Im a first time mom and I consider myself a bit of a helicopter parent. I am so paranoid (especially about the choking part) because my 11 month old daughter is still in the phase where she puts everything in her mouth. I never let her out of my sight, and I find I wash her hands at least 4 times (or more) a day to prevent her from contracing any germs. I know it sounds crazy, but I dont want anything bad to happen to her. How can I lighten up a little bit?!?! Its starting to drive me crazy :P

    Hi Shana!

I think if you did some research on it you'd find that germs help us build up our immune system.  Check out this blog from a colleague of mine. http://drbeckybortolussi.wordpress.com/2010/10/

    Hey Shana,
You should attend one of the CPR sessions. It will put your mind to ease when you know that even if something happens you know how to respond.  There are also lots of preventative measures that are discussed as well.

I suffered from postpartum anxiety after my daughter was born and what worked for me was educating myself about the things I was worried about and knowing what to do in the case of an emergency.

Check the calendar the CPR sessions are held twice a month.
