Eczema and Sleep Issues

My DD is 10.5 months old and she had a bad case of eczema at 5 months.  She had it really bad on her face, it was an infection and it started to weep.  She used to sleep in her crib but now I sleep with her because she scratches her face so much that I couldn't get up numerous times to stop her.

Her face is slowly getting better and no weeping, just some light redness and not much scratching at night.  My only problem is she still sleeps with me because she gets up every 2-3 hours due to rubbing her ears and head and can't sooth herself to sleep (she was always a terrible sleeper and can't sooth herself), I usually nurse her back to sleep.

Has anyone gone through this with their LO?  I'm not sure how to handle this, I will be heading back to work soon and want her to sleep thru the night (if she ever does).   I try putting her back in crib but still gets up every 2-3 hours.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi
My oldest daughter who is now 5 had eczema exactly like this too.    Have you gotten her allergies tested?  Ours did.  We also were told that we need to give her daily baths and lubricate her skin right after the bath.  It really helped.  What type of skin products do you use?

My son also has eczema, although not to the point where it causes him sleep troubles.. although maybe that's because we've been managing it well, with this cream that works amazingly:

'Trixera+' (either the Emollient cream or the balm) by Eau Thermale Avene.

It's definitely not cheap though; I get it at Shoppers Drugmart, 400ml bottle regularly for about $35 plus tax... (sometimes it goes on sale).

But it's the only thing that's worked for him, and keeps his skin so smooth; if we take him off it - even still at 21 months - within a few days the rashes come back; so it's still needed...

Have any of you tried "healing hazel". They make necklaces for babies, all the way up to adult sizes, and they are made out of hazelwood. Hazelwood reduces acidity in the body. I've heard great stories from moms about how much it helped their child's eczema. My sister has bad eczema too and I gave her an adult necklace and she said it made her patches much smaller (didn't make them go away completely) and made the itchiness go away.  You can read about it on their website http://www.healinghazel.com/
It is even recognized by Health Canada!
