I remember that my period resumed a couple of months before the 1st birthday.  I was also lactating then so I guess the delay is not caused by breastfeeding. 

I've also learned that you can still get pregnant while breastfeeding.  So be careful!  :D

With both of my kids, I got my period back the day after they finally slept straight through the night, which as  at about 9 months. My weaned my first one at 9 months but I continue to b/f my 13 month old.

It seems as though I just had a mini period. This is almost @ 4 months and I am breast feeding. Last month I had just a bit of spotting and a mood swing. It was nice not having to deal with it for so long...we will see what happens next month. I suppose its time to think of birth control...
