Breastfeeding moms, I am wondering if anyone has had success conceiving whilst nursing a toddler?

I'm starting to think my fertility has not yet returned - my cycles are still not really regular, having only resumed at about 15 months after birth. I am reluctant to wean my toddler since she's at the peak of separation anxiety and dealing with changes due to moving daycares right now. Just need some encouragement here :)

We did. My cycles returned when my older son was 14 months old and we started ttc right away, because we wanted the kids fairly close together. I had a 21 day cycle, in which I assume I didn't ovulate. I only charted my CM with that one, so I can't be sure. The next cycle I also charted my temperatures (they don't look pretty with a nursing toddler and irregular sleeping patterns ;)) and I ovulated around day 20. We conceived that cycle.

Even with irregular cycles you can still be fertile. Maybe try charting a few to see how it goes? I like www.fertilityfriend.com for keeping track.
