Potty Training Tips?

    Hi Moms,

Has anyone already gone through or are currently beginning the potty training stage?  If so, when did you start?  How did you know your little one was ready?  Did you use "bribes" like treats, toys or stickers?  My son is 22 months and beginning to take an interest in the potty but he will only sit on it.  He hasn't used it yet.  I've also heard that boys are more difficult than girls.  I'm eager to start the process as I've heard it can take as long as 6 months to 1 year to complete.

    Thanks

    Hi,

My baby girl is 18 months and also shows interes in a potty, she would sit on it and make even nooses ike she does something, but she'll do it only when she's dressed (wearing a diper too;))

Would like to hear how to make the same sounds and signs of attempts without a diper ;))

    Thanks,

    Marina

Hi Denise, My daughter is 18 months and she sometimes asks to go the potty and she will sit there until she is finished. She isn't consistent and I don't push her.  I'm waiting until the summer months when it will be much easier since she is just wearing shorts and tanks.  I plan on just putting her in undies at home and so she gets used to getting wet and can follow the process that when she pees in her pants she will get wet, so if she feels the sensation that she wants to go hopefully she will ask more consistently.  The most important thing is not to push them or make them feel like they are being pressured.

I will post some links and articles related to potty training on the weekend.
