I found the same too with the Medela.  I didn't find Playtex helpful either. In fact, the lack of air venting makes it harder for the baby to suck the milk out.  I tried a few different bottles but my son really took to the Born Free bottles. They are a pain to wash because of all the parts but the vents really do work as you can hear the air being vented out while the baby is feeding.  Good luck!

My guy is breastfed but on the occasion where he has had a bottle we use Dr. Browns and have had NO problems what so ever! They are great....no bubbles!

My daughter also had LOTS of belly probs/gas.  We tried about 7 different bottles.  We found Dr. Browns to be the best.  If you are using a formula, prepare it well in advance of when baby drinks it as the shaking to mix the formula and water creates air bubbles.  Dr. Browns also has a mixing jug when helped to reduce the air in the formula, but broke quite quickly.  Have u talked to a dr to rule out any physical causes ie reflux, lactose intolerance, allergies, etc.?

My daughter is 2 months old. I've been exclusively pumping since week 3 and have had the chance to use many different brands (thanks to my older sister and all the extra bottles she had leftover from her babies).

I started with Dr. Brown's - they were ok for a while but then she started to choke and spit up A LOT. She was gassy for about an hour after every feeding.

Playtex - She was okay with them but again, still spat up after every feeding. Still gassy.

Born Free - Not bad. Didn't spit up as much but too many parts to wash.

Avent - LOVE them. No spit up. No gas.

I haven't tried Medela. But I'm planning to stick with Avent. Every baby is different so if you can, try every brand until you find which one works best for you. :)

Avent worked very well for us, too.

If gas is a major concern, see if the components of the bottle are aligned and latched tightly and having the right flow size for the silicon nipple can also help.

Probably a late reply but we used the Medela with issue too. We switched to the Born Free ones.
