Bill C-51

Many people are protesting against  Bill C-51 (Amendment to Federal Food  and Drug Act) designed to regulate natural health products sold in stores like Ambrosia. On the other hand, i heard an opposite opinion saying that many of these products in fact may contain ingredients not shown on the label, and at this moment there is no regulation to control this. That's why they are trying to pass this bill. The other reason is that the major drug and pharmacy companies are trying to suppress the competition from natural health product retailers.

    Any thoughts on this subject?

I think that there should be a bit more regulation on "health" products b/c even organic herbs and products if not used properly can cause toxicity. I would definately want to know exactly what is in the product. Especially since the price at the health food store is quite a bit higher than in the regular stores.

And the most important is that if there are hidden ingredients, this is something that I would like to know.

Ah, yes, Bill C-51. It will be interesting to see how this pans out. As long as I don't start needing a prescription to get Vitamin C and the like...
