That patience and clarity of mind are conscious efforts; and that I'm a better parent than my parents.

I think I am really surprised at how patient I can be with my son (unlike with my husband! LOL). I was never patient before having him.

And a popular adage: The husband is the eldest of the siblings.  LOL

Have you also experienced becoming a bit bossy or rigid with your partner esp with baby care?

Yeah, I think I'm a bit 'stern' about keeping to my son's schedule with my husband. I think may be husbands don't like schedules very much to start with, and they may not understand how important routines are for young kids. As soon as we detour slightly from my son's routine, he gets really cranky. But my husband couldn't understand that my son was cranky because of the deviation from the routine, no matter how many times I told him!

This sure sounds like a very popular book.  I mean, too many women I've met say the same thing.  LOL

Have you ever been surprised that when you were single you would never have thought of having kids, and when it happened it turned out you're actually cut out for it.... or something in between or otherwise?
