Post-partum body shape is usually not too pleasant.  And that extra weight can wear us down with back pains.  Have you ever used girdles and the "miraculous" Spanx to help you with posture, and to fit in your clothes?  How was it?  And how much did you have to spend?

I researched on getting one after my 2nd child. I had a C-section for both of my pregnancies. I ended up buying this one: http://www.winkbellybands.com/shop/post-pregnancy/thigh-length-postnatal-recovery-weight-loss-garment

It's a bit pricey but I loved it. I think it helped with my C-section recovery too! I liked that there's a hole in the crotch area so it's breathable. I wish I bought one after having my 1st child. Personally, it helped me.

I've done some research on this and there are a few options :

    1) Julie Wiebe of Interior Fitness (www.interiorfitness.com) helps women recovery post-birth from the inside out.  Her method 're-awakens' the pelvic floor as it's the central hub for all activity for the whole body.  Her presentation has incredible information about what happens to our bodies after birth and how most of the time, the body does not restore itself.  She does not believe in body braces.  Have a look at her bio, she's very experienced and knowledgeable.

    2) Just recently on Savvymom.com, they featured a woman who works on the physical aspect of pregnancy and postpartum health at www.coreexpectations.com
The feature also discusses Diastasis - a separation of the abdominal muscles (this happened to me) - and this site works on repairing these muscle using the Tupler
Technique, which includes a splint you wrap around you (find out more on the technique at www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=56021 )
** I have not tried this approach.

    3) I've been thinking about purchasing this product (see link below) because I too had a csection and diet/exercise aren't doing the trick.  It's made of the same material they use on burn victims so it's completely breathable.  Now that I've read some of the comments, I think I will!  I've also read that in several cultures, they bind women after birth to help the body restore ...
Let me know if you're interested in this product, I may be able to get us a good price.

This is a bit queer:  How come the product models are so fit?  That's not post-partum physique!  :-D  Anyway, I used to have these types of girdles and gave up after a day - I just can't breathe and I felt constipated with the tightness around my abdomen.  I may have had the wrong size, no?

A hole in the crotch - seriously?  Is there something to cover it back?

How has interior fitness been working for you so far?

Wraps or binds around the abdomen - did you have to wear it all day?
