What I have been hearing from other moms and from my own experience is that our kids who are around ages 4-5 are starting to using "select hearing" on us. I feel like I am giving them enough choices - what clothes to wear, activities they like to participate, etc. But when we need to do something like cleaning the toys, getting ready in the morning, getting ready for bed, etc. It's a struggle to get them to do it. The routine is the same every day and we would do a count down, 15 min., 10 min., 5 min. Still there seems to be struggle every time. Any advice on what you do that works?

Hi Winnie, there's a great site that I've been reading alot of lately - I find it really helpful for my 4 year old - AHA Parenting with Dr. Laura Markham.

    Good luck to you.
