Do you use a soother/pacifier with you baby?  Yes or No.
    What age did she/he start?
    What age did she/he stop?

Yes! I have used one right from the begining and RIley is 17 months old and still using it. When he is trying to talk I ask him to take it out but I dont have a problem with him having it in as long as he isnt talking.

I use a pacifier to soothe my little one or to help him fall asleep, sometimes he spits it out after he falls asleep.  He didn't take it right away.  I think around 1 month he did and he's 4 months and still using it.  I was against using it but it does help calm him as I found out sometimes he just wants to suck.

Liam liked his pacifier between 2 months and 6 months. He would suck on it and spit it out when he'd fall asleep..

My first used the soother all the time upto 9 months, then he gave it up.  He would not take it anymore....nor would he sleep well. Eventually, he started to sleep well.

My second uses her soother all the time.  I tok it away at 11 1/2 months and only give it to her at naps and bedtime.  If she finds it....she know what to do with it.  She turns 1 next week and goes to Daycare shortly after that, and I didn't want the other kids touching it all day.  After some time -6 months, a year...whenever she is ready we will elimiate it totally.

Any tips on eliminting it are appreciated!

My son has used a soother from the time he was a few days old. He is now 22 months and uses it strictly at nap and bed times. I tried to cut that out recently and the agony (for everyone involved) just didn't seem worth it.

I will definitely stop it's usage in the next few months, if he doesn't choose to himself. But in the meantime, I am okay with it.

My first daughter used one right away and continued with it until she was 2 years old (although just at nap and bedtimes after age 1 or when she was sick). One night she asked to sleep with mommy in her bed, we were in a new house and my husband was on nights so I agreed but only if she didnt use her soother. I hid it and after 3 days of her not asking for it again I threw it out.

My second daughter refused to take one.

Its funny how they can be so different sometimes.

I didn't give my daughter a soother until she was over 2 months because I didn't want it to interfere with breastfeeding.  However, we did start using one when my husband needed a way to help calm her down.  We only use it for sleeping and in the car.  She could really take it or leave it unless she is really tired.

My kids naturally developed a self-pacifying tool: their fingers!  My eldest found her thumb from a few wks from birth, and my youngest found his pointy finger.  The middle child didn't need anything - duh! but thanks. She was the most manageable infant I had. I introduced the silicon pacifiers to all 3 when they were a few weeks old but they simply REFUSED. What the hell???  What will I do when you start that uncontrollable fuss, I would ask them.  But as it turned out nature has something else in mind.

None of my 3 kids has ever used a pacifier.  I tried with my first two, but my eldest would spit it out immediately, and my middle child acted like I had mortallly wounded her when the rubber touched her lips!  I never bothered trying with my youngest.

I have been a human pacifier for all 3 kids, and am still one for Ever, who turned 2 last month.  I am cool with that, since it keeps her happy, and my boobs don't ever get lost, or fall on the ground!   ;-)
