Stay Home with Reverse Mortgage Solutions

Now more than ever, keeping our loved ones healthy and happy is our main concern. The pandemic has put a spotlight on the safety of our aging parents and grandparents. Especially as they experience the transitional phases of aging.

They’re living on a reduced income and dealing with the difficulties of maintaining a household as a senior with declining health. These factors often force the aging to sell their homes in favour of a retirement community or a long-term care facility.

The current pandemic exposed the fragile nature of senior care facilities across the country, showing the benefits of aging safely at home.

A Canadian reverse mortgage could be the solution! Learn more about reverse mortgages and how they can protect you or your loved ones.

Join us for a complimentary webinar featuring reverse mortgage solutions, presented by Lotus Income.

Building Resilience in Parents and Children: The Self-Reg View Resilience has been a hot topic in child development and education in recent years. In this special webinar for professionals, Dr. Stuart Shanker (D. Phil), author of Self-Reg (2016) and Reframed (2020), will unlock the hidden keys to building resilience in parents and children. Dr. Shanker defines resilience as how well we can stabilize—come back to balance—after dealing stressors and challenges of all types. “The more effectively we can recover from the energy expended to deal with a stressor, the more primed we are to deal with the next stress, and the next, and the next.” Topics will include:

    • the impact of excess stress on both children and parents: how it affects our brain activity, and in turn, our energy, tension and behaviour

    • the five domains of self-regulation

    • the difference between self-regulation and self-control

    • the difference between misbehaviour and stress behaviour

    • co-regulation: the importance of relationships

    • Self-Reg: Dr. Shanker’s five-step method for understanding and managing stress, energy and tension

    Featuring:

His latest books are Self-Reg Schools: A Handbook for Educators (2019) and Reframed: Self-Reg for a Just Society (2020)

Dr. Shanker commits considerable time to bringing the research and science of Self-Reg to parents, early childhood educators, teachers, educational leaders, health practitioners and communities through presentations, master classes, online courses, webinars, publications, social media and blogs.

    Dr. Cindy-Lee Dennis

She has over 20 years of experience leading large cohort studies and clinical trials — including intervention care models that leverage technology to improve clinical effectiveness and accessibility —  recruiting participants from all across Canada. She also developed the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, the most widely used breastfeeding measure internationally that has been translated into over 20 different languages to identify women early who are at-risk of poor breastfeeding outcomes. In total, Dr. Dennis has led eight Cochrane systematic reviews and published over 200 peer-reviewed research papers. Self-Reg: Parenting in the Pandemic : This is a recording of the live session. You will receive the video link once your registration is complete.

Parenting is often challenging, even more so these days as parents navigate the changes, uncertainties and anxieties associated with reschooling children during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Stuart Shanker, author of Self-Reg (2016) and Reframed (2020), will introduce Self-Reg, a fresh approach that offers parents a new and more hopeful way of understanding and addressing the unique stressors children (and their parents) are facing during this unprecedented time. Dr. Shanker says recovery—how well we can stabilize after dealing stressors and challenges— is one of the keys to responding to stress in ways that promote growth and learning. “The more effectively we can recover from the energy expended to deal with a stressor, the more primed we are to deal with the next stress, and the next, and the next.” Topics will include:

    • the impact of excess stress on our brain activity, and in turn our energy, tension and behaviour

    • Self-Reg: Dr. Shanker’s five-step method for understanding and managing stress, energy and tension

    • co-regulation: the importance of relationships

    • the importance of Self-Reg for parent well-being and effectiveness
